Edwin was born and lived all his life in Silsden, West Yorkshire. He experienced many changes in the Yorkshire way of life, some of which can be glimpsed in the poems here. Edwin had a good sense of humour and wrote many poems, not just in the local dialect. The poems reproduced on this site are in memory of Edwin who died on the 12 May 1997 aged 73.
