Bridges Strengthening, Silsden: starting 28 July for 16 weeksBridges Strengthening, Silsden
The Council has arranged for the above work to be carried out. The work will starting on 28th July 2008 and will be on site for 16 weeks. These dates and periods are subject to weather conditions and other unforeseeable circumstances that we may encounter during the works. The work will involve the following bridge: - The bridge next to the Co-op entrance will be closed for 2 weeks when strengthening works take place. A traffic diversion will be in place for those who use this bridge. Pickard Bridge This bridge is next to the old police station on Bolton Road. Part of the bridge will remain operational for traffic during the construction allowing single way traffic flow to be maintained. Road End Culvert This structure runs from Kirkgate (junction) to the Wesley Place access. It will be entirely replaced. The Wesley place access will be closed for certain periods during the construction and the car park have restricted access. The island in Kirkage will be removed during the strengthening work to ensure two way traffic flows can be maintained. The Wesley Place car park will have reduced capacity for the entire construction period. This will accommodate Wesley Place temporary access and storage for site compounds. I have enclosed the drawing R/MW/HS/B10034/108A that indicate the area affected. The works will be supervised by Mark Brundle, a Council employee who is based in Bradford but will make frequent visits to the site. Mark Brundle can be contacted by telephoning Bradford 01274 434610 and by e-mail mark.brundle@bradford.gov.uk. If you have any queries or complaints about the work, please contact Mark Brundle. It is important that problems are reported as they arise, so that they can be dealt with quickly. I strongly recommend not contacting other construction work people, as they may not have the authority to deal with any problems. I must point out that any private agreement which the Contractor on site makes with you (such as for access, storing materials, or providing other services) or with any other contractor are not made on behalf of the Council. If any disputes arose, I would not be able to intervene and can only suggest that agreements be made in writing and signed by both parties.
